Eric Kearley

I improve things. And make them stick.

Chances are you have looked me up because we are scheduled for a meeting and you want to know more. Here goes: people keep asking me to change and develop things and then even pay me to do it. Organisations, teams, businesses, people. From my first management job at 22 until today. I figure if you get asked to do the same thing repeatedly, you must be reasonably good at it. So that's what I do. Eric Kearley Consulting AB has three business units: Kearley Scaling Partners that primarily help Scaleups scale, Kearley Coaching that helps leadership teams and executives perform and Kearley Value Partners, helping investors (PE, VC, FO) with their portfolio companies. There's some overlap there for sure. But that's a good thing. My career has taken me from journalism school in Gothenburg to VP at Viacom's MTV Networks from London, leading expansion across 32 EMEA markets. The theme running through everything since has been the same: designing the strategy, building the team, and leading the organisation through change and into new territory.
From MTV/Viacom to increasing the value of TVNZ in New Zealand, then to Australia as part of the Executive Team at Telstra, starting a new business unit. To Dubai to build GoBX from scratch for MBC Group, then Abu Dhabi as CDTO at Sky News Arabia. More recently, transformation and advisory work with NEP and EMG. Along the way: Deputy CEO for Paul Allen's H-Group and fund, mentor and advisor at Muru-D, Ascension Ventures, and Swedish Scaleups. Today, I work internationally out of Stockholm, running Eric Kearley Consulting AB.
I have an MBA from Hult Ashridge Business School, a Diploma in Leadership, Auckland University Business School and an ICF accredited Diploma in Coaching. Also a Certified Board Member, Swedish Academy of Board Directors, with board experience across media, technology, and early-stage companies on four continents.Given that there are people out there who save lives daily, I dont make much noise about what I do. But sometimes even I am noticed. I have been quoted in Harvard Business Review, awarded a World Class New Zealander statue — without actually being from New Zealand — and named one of the 20 most influential international business people with Swedish background by Veckans Affärer.Who doesn't like talking about what they do? I have been given that privilege repeatedly at events from Sydney to San Francisco. And I have written the mandatory business book, one of the least read, about the future of the media industry.
